Smartcity Summit New Delhi 2015

Government of India has envisioned the concept of building 100 smart new cities in the country. The new government looks forward to the smart cities that will have better facilities, better connectivity and better environment.In this context, Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd is pleased to announce “4th Annual Smart City” conference to be held in New Delhi on 31st July, 2015. This event will focus on the various aspects of a smart city including urban development, power, energy, transport, technology, green building, network & communication technology, etc. The conference is supported by eGov, India’s premiere magazines on ICT in governance. Apart from the Conference 4th Smart City will consist of Awards and Exhibitions.

Objective

It is often said that the cities act as the ‘engines of the economic growth’ and in a country like India, is has been projected that urban India will contribute nearly 75% of the national GDP in the next 15 years. With an urban population of 31%, India is at a point of transition where the pace of urbanization will speed up. It is for this reason that we need to plan our urban areas well and cannot wait any longer to do so. Experts opine that the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and other technologies can be leveraged effectively to plan a better urbanization strategy. It is in this context that the Government of India has decided to develop 100 Smart Cities in the country. 4th Annual Smart City Conference is meant to provide a platform to bring the major stakeholders of the urban development and eGovernance to discuss and deliberate on the various models of Smart City. This summit will take forward the government’s agenda of smart cities by finding out the best possible contribution from each stakeholder towards the development of smart cities across the nation. Key stake holders from the Government of India and various state governments, urban local bodies, urban planning experts and industry leaders will be engaged for ‘4th Annual Smart City’ Conference. It is also noteworthy to mention that Smart City 2015 will have expo and awards. This is meant to provide a platform to bring the major stakeholders to discuss and debate upon the emergence and importance of creating world class urban infrastructure in India.
