Maharashtra has always been a pioneer in social, economic and political arena. It is no exception when it comes to e-Governance. The 1st eMaharashtra Leadership Summit, held on April 27, 2012, elicited fantastic response from the governance circles, private industry and the community of thought leaders. The 2nd eMaharashtra Leadership Summit 2013 will be held on 9-10 May, 2013 at Taj Vivanta, President, Mumbai. The summit will put spotlight on exemplary initiatives and achievements by Maharashtra in efforts of taking government at citizens’ doorsteps. It will highlight remarkable accomplishments in easing public life at state and local self-governance levels. We put the spotlight on Maharashtra and its initiatives and efforts in bringing about a digitally inclusive society, of ICTs playing the harbinger of a silent revolution in obscure towns and villages, of acknowledging the efforts and addressing the challenges, and of bringing all stakeholders with common concerns into one platform, the eMaharashtra platform. With 2nd eMaharashtra Leadership Summit 2013, once again, we hope to place spotlight on the leading adopters of modern technology for improving the accessibility, transparency and accountability of government and making governance citizen-friendly.
