About conferences

The Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat, is organising the 7th edition of eIndia – India’s largest ICT conference in partnership with Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd from December 15-17, 2011. An unyielding focus on citizen-centricity, a sound policy environment, common approach across Departments and a robust state-wide infrastructure connecting every single village to the Internet are the bedrocks on which Gujarat’s e-governance ecosystem has been built. The strategic approach towards deploying ICT for better governance has made Gujarat one of the leading practitioners of e-governance not only within India, but globally. The eIndia Conference is one of the world’s premier events focusing on the use of ICT for development and the Department feels great pride in being associated with this initiative. The conference offers an unparalleled platform for knowledge sharing and learning. I warmly welcome all delegates and look forward to participating in what promises to be an immensely enriching event.
