eGov Knowledge Exchange May 23-25, 2013 Srinagar

The eGov Knowledge Exchange – Srinagar is an unique event that takes various participants to the picturesque locale of Srinagar and offers a relaxing environment for interaction with key officials and experts. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Omar Abdullah, is the Chief Guest at the eGov Knowledge Exchange– Srinagar. The Jammu and Kashmir e-governance Agency (JaKeGA) is the “Host Partner” to the eGov Knowledge Exchange -Srinagar. Shri Bipul Pathak, Commissioner & Secretary, Science & Technology and Information Technology Department, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, is the Programme Chair. The eGov Knowledge Exchange is being powered by eGov magazine, Asia’s premier monthly magazine on e-Governance, continuously in print for the last 9 years. The Forum will bring together more than 100 Key Leaders from Centre and State governments in the form for a 3-day residential conference, along with the members of their family. The Forum will provide not only a friendly and supportive environment to network with key decision makers, it will also pose as an excellent opportunity to network and learn from other IT players, who are encountering similar challenges and opportunities in different parts of the country.

Objectives

e-Governance is basically about the new ways by which services can be delivered to the public. Today we are witnessing a huge rise in the expectations that the public has from the government, municipal administration and from all the bodies of government. It is immensely challenging for various government departments to cope with the rising expectations. By the virtue of being the enablers of e-Governance, ICTs serve as tools in processes for transformation and change. The eGov Knowledge Exchange– Srinagar will have healthy discussions on how new initiatives in e-Governance can lead to better social outcomes. The ultimate goal is to develop a broad range of new ideas that can lead to more effective e-Governance in the country
