About The Summit
India is surging ahead with a renewed focus on urbanization and industrialization to maintain a sustainable growth and development. However, with the ever increasing population, rapid urbanization and industrialization, the waste generation as a result natural resource consumption is also rising at the equal pace.
As the prosperity grows, 62 million tonnes of garbage is generated everyday by the 377 million people living in urban India alone.
Disposal of millions of tonnes of untreated garbage by the municipal bodies in India is leading to health issues and environmental degradation.
The waste management has become a major challenge for state government and its municipal bodies.
The “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” (Clean India Mission), launched on 2nd October 2014 by the Government of India, was created to deal with the very issues of waste management, cleanliness and sanitation on a national level.
Identifying the ‘Effective Waste Management’ as the need of the hour, Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd along with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Government of Telangana is organizing a national summit – ‘National Waste Management Summit’ in Hyderabad on June 24, 2017.
The conference will be a unique forum for idea exchange, knowledge sharing, networking, exploring opportunities for collaboration and new business opportunities, while setting the policy agenda to meet future challenges in Waste Management.
