Shantanu Roy

Shantanu Roy, a seasoned professional with 30+ years of experience in capital goods sectors, has assumed the role of Chairman & Managing Director at BEML Ltd since August 1, 2023. A graduate in Electrical Engineering and MBA in Financial Management, he previously served as Director (Mining and Construction Business), achieving significant growth in the vertical. Roy, a Six Sigma Black Belt, brings expertise in project financing, international laws, and arbitration. His leadership at BEML included heading Northern Region operations, strategy & new initiatives, and the International Business Division. Earlier, he played a key role in positioning BHEL in the international market, securing major orders, including the largest-ever export order in Bangladesh. His diverse experience encompasses production oversight and international training in the Netherlands and Germany.
