With over 2.8 GW of operational solar capacity—a tenfold increase since 2016—Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a major force in India's renewable energy landscape. The state has set an ambitious target of 22 GW of solar power by 2027, positioning itself as a frontrunner in the clean energy transition. This rapid growth aligns with India's national commitment to achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, and an even more ambitious 1,800 GW by 2047.
